Events and Fees

The Tenth Annual TriWaco Events and Fees information is below, but did you know that Waco is the home of the first triathlon ever held in the state of Texas? The Waco Striders hosted the event in May 1980 with 24 men and one woman to compete in the Olympic distance at Lake Waco with the staging area at Speegleville Park. The event grew to 500 entries with a waiting list each year. The 12th Annual Waco Triathlon was in 1991. That was the last year for the triathlon until the new TriWaco in 2009. Many triathletes considered the Waco Triathlon the best in Texas, and we’re confident the Annual TriWaco event will continue to grow in popularity. Thank you to Bicycle World, this year’s presenting sponsor.

6.2 mile route will give an additional 5K in Cameron Park by running on the pavement to the turn-around point.

The Aquabike Races is an endurance sport composed of swimming and cycling stages. It’s an ideal race for athletes who are focused on the swim and bike legs of the triathlon without the run.

This is by far the best event I have raced in. The organization leading up to the race (emailed info, etc.) made pre-race so much less stressful. The volunteers were amazing and full of smiles, even at 5 a.m.!! The best part though, in my opinion, were the spectators, sooo many that come out just to cheer on us competitors. A really well done event!!! I will be back next year!!
